People-centred community resources: community resource for accessing IT, with support to enable people to use it

Access to digital public services was important. They should not just be available in the home; consideration needs to be given to community resources, as some people like or need to use public spaces (e.g. library, college, community centre) to access IT services. IT services should be open to all and not time-constrained, and there should be help for people with literacy problems. Additionally, some people might not have the skills to use computers and the internet, so they need support.  There should be ‘person-centred digital resources’.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because people can become cut off when services and information was moved online. This was particularly important to ensure that some groups that, such as elderly, aren’t excluded.
