Involve people in decision making in local budgets

There should be a priority to involve people in decision making in local budgets.

The Scottish Government’s commitment to Participatory Budgeting (giving people a direct say on how budgets are spent) was positive and money set aside for this should be spent on it and not diverted to other priorities by local authorities. Participatory Budgeting at Community Council level could connect with people at the roots of the community.

Why the contribution is important

This is important because people should be able to decide how local money is spent to help improve their community for the better.
