Breakdown of Nosocomial infection by hospital / care facility. Not just health boards.

The incidence of Nosocomial infection should be looked at not only by health board but each institution within each board. This would allow forward planning should a similar situation occur in the future. Some institutions may be better placed to contain infection ie single roomed facilities versus open wards.

Why the contribution is important

Nosocomial infection not only has the great potential to kill many as it did and continues to do throughout this pandemic but also cause great long term harm to those who survive. This comes at an immeasurable cost to the persons / families involved as well as the NHS for ongoing care of those fortunate enough to survive. It’s is imperative that plans are in place should a similar event occur again to absolutely minimise risk.
