lockdown benefit vs cost

How can the Scottish government prove they saved ANYONE from covid-19 with lock-downs and other mitigation measures ? Does this evidence based on real world data exist ? There was 4951 excess deaths within the home as NON-COVID in 2020. This is a direct result of the fear based messaging and reduced hospital capacity so many people simply died at home and did not seek help. Surely the cost/benefit analysis in relation to lockdown should mean they never happen again in our society as they are far too damaging not just in lives lost but on society as a whole, jobs, mental health, children's education etc. A completely new HOLISTIC strategy must be drawn up that seeks to IMPROVE the nations health so it is more robust to withstand future health challenges. Lockdowns and masks should be seen as a failed experiment. A small example of a new approach would be to have nationwide vitamin D3 testing in time for every winter season.

    Importantly, was any modelling or even "back of a fag packet" calculation done AT THE TIME to try and ascertain the disastrous short-, mid- and long-term consequences of closing down society, including healthcare? Or was the consistently inaccurate, as he admits, modelling of Professor Ferguson taken on blind faith?
