Predictions

Look at the predictions and examine preparedness and reality against the predictions.
there are three elements to this:
Firstly scientists have been predicting a pandemic for some considerable time; given that knowledge how prepared were we to face the reality?
Secondly people in contained environments i.e. care homes, prisons, hospitals - the predictions form Universities (e.g Oxford and Harvard University and lobbying groups were much higher than actually experienced in some environments e.g. prisons and sadly unexpected in Care homes.
Thirdly, the unequivocal success of the vaccine story needs told.

Why the contribution is important

Accurate predictions and preparedness for the future.
Praise for what we have achieved.

Prisons and care homes were perhaps not so much unexpected but not accounted for in the predictions. If the government does not choose a broad enough pool of advisers and the apparatus used to make the prediction is not fit for purpose then the decisions will not be optimal.
