Reporting Covid data with context
The inquiry should look into the effect of reporting daily cases, hospitalisations and deaths without putting these figures into context.
Why the contribution is important
We have never been told before on a weekly basis how many people lost their lives from a specific illness. Without putting these figures into context, people formed a distorted view about Covid death numbers in UK. People don't realise we lose about half a million people a year in UK and that Covid is not the biggest killer in this country.
We don't test for flu. If we were to do that, at the same frequency as we do for SARS Cov 2, then huge number of cases would be reported. But we don't do that even though the flu vaccine isn't always very effective.

In terms of the information regarding how many positive Covid tests recorded daily, this again is unnecessary; we dont see daily rates of other viruses or conditions. Sometimes saturating people with information has teh opposite effect and this is one instance where I believe there are not a great many people who take notice of the statistics anymore
