Community Benefit

As the areas affected by these development suffer the most then the electricty provided to those areas should be at a discounted level as presently electricty is cheaper in London than Scottish Highlands where it is produced. This need to be covered in legislation as should the payments for community benefit as presentl its voluntary or guidance but should be enshrined in law so no dubiety

Why the contribution is important

It will formalise the process and reduce interpretation as well as compensate those most affected by the developments

Agree that community benefit should be mandatory and completely taken out of the discretion of the developer - or any subsequent purchaser of the project.

Agree that if such developments are to be forced on communities (as is currently the case) then at the very least these communities should receive a direct financial benefit in terms of lower bills rather than the current voluntary community benefit schemes which are vastly out of proportion to the profits of the developers and over which the developer has control.

Living in Tomatin and getting surrounded by wind farms, having to put up with initial installation and there after the low drone noise and the visual impact of these turbines on our beautiful landscape and mountains. We should have a contribution to our electricity bills written into any application.
Lower what shareholders receive to benefit the communities more with cheaper electricity.
