Demographics

Identify healthy demographics and return them to work and running their business ASAP.
Apply the distancings and guidelines, but do it quickly for say 18-35 year olds.

Why the contribution is important

It may enable us to start the economy again and save some local and wider businesses from closing up.

This is age discrimination and would leave the government open to formal complaints. There is not enough clear data to make a decision that affects someone who 35 plus a day rather than 34 plus 363 days (and do they get put back into isolation on their 35 birthday?).

Health and individual response to the virus is more nuanced so someone at 25 could very easily be less healthy than someone at 45 or 55.

Giving people an unfair employment or business benefit based on very little legitimate statistical data would just be divisive.

All ages free from underlying health issues should be included. Colonel Tom Moore at 100 years old is potentially at less risk than many others who are much younger.

This is a difficult issue. Eg if you have underlying health issues, over a certain age or are black Asian etc.. you are more liable to be adversely impacted by covid. This really needs more science and a better understating of the real reasons for susceptibility to a severe covid illness. In addition what about people who have had the disease... we do not know who or even is we as individuals have has a mild form. So when antibody tests are available do we get a certificate that allows people with antibodies out and about freely... do we need to tattoo the foreheads of these people so the police do not stop them?? There are many ethical issues about freedom or the individual here that is balanced by the safety of the individual and disease control. China has a system that works but at what cost of freedom????
We do not even know if people with low or no symptoms are virus shredders... Nor the impact of children... No need to know the status of the population with regards to antibodies etc before making such a sweeping rule which would possibly cause civil unrest.

A person with Covid may not display symptoms for quite some time, but still be infectious. A key objective of the lockdown is to prevent people that are infectious but don't realise it from infecting others. This proposal falsely assumes that certain demographics may not be subject to the "infected and contagious but asymptomatic" feature of this virus.
