Prioritisation in a Just Transition

Areas such as Shetland need to prioritised in planning and delivery of “Just Transition”.

The Islands should be recognised as a region of the highest priority given the scale of local employment in industries likely to be affected significantly and early by decarbonisation; the local dependency on hydrocarbons for the delivery of essential lifeline services, the dependency on hydrocarbons of key local economic sectors and in providing many communities and families basic energy needs.
