    It is essential that energy usage is reduced through efficiency measures such as improved insulation, more and efficient consumption.

    Please ensure that EnerPHit or equivalent is used as a stretch target for retrofiting / refurbishing both dwellings AND non-domestic buildings

    Ensuring a total retrofit is going to take many years, so ensure all new homes are built to energy-efficient standards.

    Before working out how to generate energy, first we need to establish what the minimum energy requirements are and ensure that all homes and businesses are retrofited so that they only need to use the minimum energy. This lowers the cost of new energy generation and minimises the ongoing cost of energy for the country, maximising the energy that can be exported to provide income for the state

    Encouraging more training in jobs that retrofit existing housing could offset any jobs that need to go as part of the transition.
