Scottish Energy Generation and Storage Solutions

We need to ensure that our local communities survive and thrive the transition to renewables without leaving them behind to become ghost towns; hollow shells of the past, that collapse into ruin, deemed unworthy of support or effort.
There is an opportunity to build a sustainable energy superstructure that provides the generation, storage and transmission solution here on the north coast of Scotland that would bring energy security to the whole country. But it needs organised development, community support, investment and delivery of a cohesive product to benefit all of Scotland.
Scottish Government could seek partners to ensure that Scotland have an effective energy generation that encompasses all forms of renewable technologies: wind, solar, wave, hydrogen, biomass, etc. and attract companies to manufacture all the infrastructure components which would allow homes and business to obtain them at a realistic price point and support a growing economy to areas of the Highlands that need to stop the migration of people and skills away from our communities.
Once we generate energy we need to store the excess for future needs or sell it onwards to keep the cost to Scottish consumers as low as possible reflected in low transmission costs relative to the actual generation point.

Why the contribution is important

Scotland needs to become self-sufficient and have a robust energy strategy that ensures the generation, storage and transmission of energy to all homes and businesses without threat to supply or excessive costs.
Let's ensure that rural communities are provided with the means to stay alive and thrive in this ever changing world we live in.

How about some Scottish treasures such as disused coal mines? Have stored heat energy lagoons in them. Flood them at times of heavy rain then in times of heat need use as ground-water aquifers to retrieve subterranean heat.
These aquifers are used in many places. They could be adapted perhaps to a variety of conditions and environments.
